After retirement from a professional life in science and medicine, Bev turned to the arts, music and painting, to further develop. She has worked in acrylics, oils and watercolour. From many workshops available in the Fredericton area and also in Nova Scotia and as far afield as South Carolina and Cape Cod, she has learned much about working with these media and many approaches to a work of art.

Her main influences have been Lloyd Fitzgerald and Poppy Balser. She paints mainly landscapes, natural subjects and animals. She is also a member of UrbanSketchersFredericton and has learned the art of urban sketching from many outings with that group. She paints both ‘en plein air’ and in the studio.
