background

Debb's interest in art started in her early years of childhood. Her parents would find her in a quiet place, drawing. She was always known in high school as the one who would go to art school. But as fate would have it, she landed a dream job working at a sign shop straight out of high school. Instead of having to pay to go to art school, her job paid her for her sign-painting skills, which in time, she started her own business, Feminine Touch Signs. After all, Tom Thomson, one of the artists of The Group of Seven, was a graphic artist!

It was in 1998 when Debb painted her first portrait, that of her dear Grandmother who had passed away, that made her realize how much she needed to create again.

In 2012 there was a call out for a new portrait artist for the New Brunswick Sports Hall of Fame. Debb decided to apply. It was when she was selected out of thirteen other artists that she decided to pursue her childhood dream of becoming a full time artist.

Debbs client list are from all over Canada and United States.  She is known for her enthusiasm and excitement each time she is commissioned to paint a portrait, whether it be a special pet or person. Her goal is to become the best artist she can possibly be.

What does it mean for Debb to create?

"If I could not paint...I could not breathe."
