Sharon Hicks

I grew up in a rural community near Sackville NB, and after living most of my adult life in several cities in NB, last year I returned home to my roots.   I have three grown children and four grandchildren.

Mostly self-taught as an artist, I've been drawing and painting for as long as I can remember.  My inspiration comes largely from the natural wonders of what I see around me, especially the vast Tantramar Marsh which borders my hometown.  Though I've used many different mediums over the years,  since the late 1990s I've focused primarily on coloured pencil work.  I market prints and notecards based on some of my Marsh paintings, and have taught art classes as well,  most recently with the Sackville Art Association.  I've also completed numerous custom portrait commissions,  both pets and people.

I'm a member of the Sackville Art Association,  life member of the Fredericton Society of Artists,  past member of Gallery Connexion in Fredericton,  past member of the Coloured Pencil Society of America, and very shortly will become a member of the relatively new Coloured Pencil Society of Canada.

I welcome feedback or inquiries.
